White-label GEO, explained

How an agency sells AI search visibility without building a GEO team

White-label GEO (generative engine optimization, also called AEO) is the work of getting a business named and cited in answers from AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot. EliteLeadGrow does that work for agencies: it makes business facts consistent, adds schema, earns citations and writes answer-first content, then reports mentions under the agency's brand.

What are GEO and AEO, and how do they differ from SEO?

GEO and AEO both mean working to be the business an AI assistant names when someone asks a question. We use the two terms interchangeably. Some practitioners use AEO for answer boxes and voice replies, and GEO for generative models such as ChatGPT and Gemini, but the work overlaps almost completely.

SEO tries to earn a position in a list of links. GEO tries to earn a mention inside a written answer, often with a cited source beside it. The buyer never sees ten results to compare, so the business is either in the answer or absent from the decision.

How do AI assistants decide which businesses to name?

Some answers come from what a model absorbed in training. Many come from live retrieval: the assistant turns the question into searches, reads pages, picks passages and writes an answer, often with citations. No vendor publishes its full selection rules, so we work from the signals that consistently matter.

A business gets named when the assistant can find it, tell it apart from similar names, trust what it says and lift a clean answer from its pages.

  • Retrieval: pages are crawlable, indexed and fast enough to be fetched
  • Entity clarity: one unambiguous name, description, category and location
  • Consistent facts: the same address, phone, hours and services on every listing
  • Schema: structured data that states what the business is and does
  • Citations: mentions on trusted third-party sites, directories and review sources
  • Answer-shaped content: a direct answer in the first sentence under a question

How do SEO and GEO deliverables compare?

They share a foundation and differ in what they aim at. The table sets out each area side by side so you can see where a GEO line item overlaps an SEO one and where it is new work.

What does your client see, and what do we do behind the scenes?

Your client sees a plain-English account of what assistants say about them today, what changed this month and what comes next. Everything arrives under your logo, domain and colors, and you decide how much detail to share.

Behind that, we ask AI the questions customers ask, clean up the business facts across the web, add schema, publish content shaped to be quoted and place citations on sites assistants already trust. You present the progress and keep the margin between our wholesale partner rate and your retail price.

How do you prove GEO progress to a client?

You compare against a baseline. Before any work starts we record which questions name the client, on which platforms, and which competitors appear instead. Later reports re-run the same questions and mark what changed.

Mentions are tracked across 25+ AI platforms and shown beside Google rankings, so the client sees SEO and GEO as one picture. Assistants vary their answers from one run to the next, so the report reads trends across many questions and does not hang a result on a single reply.

Does SEO still matter if you sell GEO?

Yes, because assistants read the same web that search engines index. Google's AI answers draw on Google's index, and Copilot retrieves web results through Bing. A page that search engines cannot crawl, render or understand is rarely a page an assistant can quote.

That is why we sell GEO as a layer on top of technical SEO, content and citations, and not as a replacement. Clients who already have SEO retainers add the AI work to the same plan.

What are the honest limits of GEO?

No one controls what an AI assistant says. Answers change as models and their sources change, and the same question can return different replies on different days. We cannot promise a placement, a number-one mention or a date.

What we can do is improve the signals assistants rely on and measure the result against the baseline. If a client wants a guaranteed position, this is the wrong service, and we would rather you hear that before you sell it.

How to add GEO to a client plan

  1. Run an AI audit

Record what assistants say about the client today and which competitors they name instead. This is the baseline.

  2. Fix the facts and the site

Make business details match everywhere, add schema and clear crawl problems that stop assistants reading the pages.

  3. Publish and earn citations

Add answer-first content for the target questions and place mentions on sites assistants already trust.

  4. Re-measure and report

Re-run the same questions each month, mark what changed and agree next steps under your brand.

In practice, yes. AEO means answer engine optimization. Some people use it for answer boxes and voice replies and GEO for generative models, but we treat them as one service and report on both.

No. No one controls AI output, and answers vary between runs and over time. We improve the signals assistants use and measure mentions against a baseline, so you can show real movement without promising a position.

We track 25+ AI platforms, including ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Copilot and Google's AI answers, and show the results beside Google rankings in one branded report.

They need a site that search engines can crawl and understand, because assistants read the same web. If the basics are sound, GEO can start right away. If not, the first round of work is technical fixes.

We do not put a date on it. Assistants update at different speeds and answers shift between runs. Each monthly report compares against the baseline, so you see direction before you see a settled result.

No. Reports, logins and emails carry your logo, domain and colors. We work as your delivery team, so the relationship and the renewal stay with you.

Run the white-label AI audit first. It shows the client what assistants say about them today, and it gives you a baseline and a prioritized fix list to build the plan around.
